The Alderman's office got a bead on the exact spot and she sent it in this morning. Well, maybe we'll have to all get out there and stop traffic and hire a photographer to send it all over the place. If Zoe can't go out, if kids can't go to the parks or beach, why live here? Yes, I try to be careful but can't if people come at me at warp speed out of no-where at 7:10 a.m.

Oh, get this. I made the first "cold dinner" of the year with hard-cooked eggs. He's tall so saw these three eggs on the top shelf and not the ones on the bottom of the frig door. He tried to crack a hard-cooked egg into his burgers. We split it. He's back to ice, water, Dr. Pepper from the frig. Love you more, dearest. Dee

Broken but tasty burgers, sloppy knife work. Hey, he hasn't cooked anything since toast when he was four! It was nice but after cleaning up after the kitchen tornado he's stuck with dog duty (and doodoo) while I cook dinner. Let's make it a 12-year event! Love you, hon, Dee

Thinking I found the right person to go to here, an assistant of our local representative who said between yellow pedestrian signs there always are supposed to be stripes on the street. She's getting a photo and will send it to Traffic. Day well done, Ms. Dee! When I found out yesterday that Moms will not cross that street or take a stroller across I knew it affected many more in the community. Perhaps a petition will help get our message across.
I just thought of a riff on this I'd like to try this coming week: saute some sweet Italian sausage; then toss in some cavolo nero (dinosaur kale that's been de-ribbed and ribboned (chiffonade). Add cooked pasta with a bit of its water and some grated Fontina. Top the bowls with a bit of grated or shaved Parmigiano or Romano. I'll try it and let you know. Anything to get my husband to eat something green!

How do you know? You know when to hold hands or take an arm over ice or snow. No looking is necessary, you just know your partner is there and just feel and do that kind of thing. I was supposed to be married years ago and looked at bridal magazines with couples on the sofa together reading the newspaper. Hey kids, that's not how it works. We just know instinctively when to touch a shoulder for a bad dream or take a hand to walk down the street. There is no looking or really even thinking, only knowing. That is a true test of a relationship.
