Julie and I communicated today, our fiftieth birthday. We were born at the same time in different countries and became friends in high school.
I left there after 10th grade and we probably saw each other twice after that. Knitters know this, I found Julie through her Mom’s yarn store!
In high school I was always trying to be cool, and Julie always had her oboe reed in her mouth and neither of us was cool. But we had fun together. Back then it was always difficult to be the smart girls.
It’s wonderful to get together with an old friend from age 15 and email each other the same day. Let’s hope we talk and see each other soon. I would love to see Julie again and meet her family. – Dee
